I had such a lovely morning with this beautiful family! They are all so sweet and fun! Mom had some great ideas for props--she brought along some fairy wings, a tea set, and this gorgeous knit hood that a friend made for her three year old. Everything was perfect! Except the weather...
After a reschedule due to the littlest one being under the weather, our reschedule date did NOT treat us well. It randomly decided to drop to CRAZY cold temperatures for the time of year. And mom had all of their perfect little fall outfits already planned! So we toughed it out and did some shivering and realized that the cold DID bother us anyhow... But we still got gorgeous photos!
We were going for the whole beautiful changing leaves fall look. I scoped out a beautiful location down in the South Mountain Reserve in West Orange, New Jersey. It had this amazing open field with trees that were just the PERFECT shades of fall leaves lining the field! Well, by the time things were rescheduled, the weather had taken its nasty turn and a lot of the leaves were already gone. :-(
But no worries! That's what a pro is for, right? Things could've been doomed, but the field was still beautiful (even without the pretty leaves) and with a lot of coaxing and game playing and bribing, we worked out some gorgeous photos!
The littlest one was NOT having this hold cold thing. She wanted nothing but to be snuggled. Which was totally fine! Sweet and snuggly is just as beautiful as independent and sassy! :-)
The three year old was pretty displeased with the cold as well, but we were able to coax some fun out of her when we pulled out the fairy wings! I mean what kid doesn't want to run around and be a fairy?
And oh my goodness those eyes! Both girls just had the most stunning eyes! Seriously breathtaking!
All in all, things definitely did not go exactly according to plan--but that's the beauty of photography! Especially when it comes to photographing children! You go with the flow! I love the unpredictable nature of working with children and absolutely LIVE for the ecstatic surprise of the parents when they see their gorgeous gallery after (what they thought was) a disastrous session.
Here are some of my favorites of this beautiful family! Enjoy!
